This is mostly a note to myself, but I want to keep it somewhere, so I might as well publish it. What's described here is the way NexT projects are going to be versioned by from now on.
The syntax goes basically as follows: [size=4]Name-Write.Version.Step[.Build][-Platform]-Status[/center] Explanation of names: Write: The rewrite revision. This should preferably stay at 1. Version: Version number depending on the set milestones. Step: Sub version number chosen at will, indicating progress. Build: Release build number (optional). SubprojectName: The name of the subproject. SubprojectVersion: Ditto. SubprojectStep: Ditto. Platform: The platform specific build, if there is any platform dependency (optional). Status: - α Early development (Unstable) - β Late development (Unstable) - γ Stable release - ω Final release, may or may not be stable, project may or may not be finished.
As an example, this here is running TyNET-3.4.8-Linux/Debian-β as of the time of writing.
